Methods to inform the distinction between defending your ego and defending what really issues to you.
We’re all combating battles each day. In conferences, at dinner tables, on social media. However what if most of those battles are utterly pointless?
I used to suppose each disagreement was value defending. Colleagues with “incorrect” concepts annoyed me. Pals making completely different decisions irritated me. I used to be consistently in battle mode, making an attempt to show I used to be proper.
Then I noticed: I used to be combating the incorrect battles solely.
The true battle isn’t about being proper, it’s about figuring out who you’re and what you stand for. That’s the distinction between ego battles and genuine convictions.
Proper and Incorrect solely matter in context
Image this: I’m at lunch with mates, and we’re debating whether or not to order particular person meals or share dishes family-style. Such a small factor, but it created stress on the desk.
