Press launch –
Within the autumn of 2025, Rhys Marsh & Mandala will launch their new album, Till The Finish Of Time — a darkish, expansive and cinematic journey that explores themes of loss and love, together with the notion that while you lose somebody you’re keen on, you continue to love them till the top of time.
With songs starting from ten to eighteen minutes in size, the album’s soundscape is basically dominated by majestic analogue synthesisers and led by Mandala’s trademark dynamics — starting from whisper-quiet to wall-of-sound. Till The Finish Of Time can be obtainable on all streaming and obtain platforms, alongside a strictly limited-edition CD, obtainable solely from Burning Shed, on November 14.
Rhys Marsh has launched eleven albums up to now — each solo, and because the singer-songwriter in bands — and that is the third Mandala album. It was determined to name this a Rhys Marsh & Mandala album, as thematically and stylistically it follows on from Marsh’s earlier solo album, In the direction of The West, which was a direct refection on the lack of his Dad.
Fashioned in London in 1997, Mandala have toured the UK, Scandinavia and North America through the years, taking part in at iconic venues corresponding to CBGB’s in NYC and The Marquee Membership in London. Their mix of folk-noir, progressive rock, psychedelia — all wrapped in Marsh’s atmospheric and dynamic melodies — has garnered acclaim and airplay throughout a number of international locations, with singles A-listed on Radio Caroline, and chart success on iTunes within the UK and Canada.
Critics have referred to as Mandala’s sound “a kaleidoscope of prog, psychedelia, and folks”, and praised their “knife-edge atmospheres and Japanese-tinged melodies” (The Unbiased), with The Guardian describing their music as “folk-noir”, and Time Out highlighting their “melancholy laden melodies”.
Till The Finish Of Time is the type of album that must be listened to from begin to finish. The songs are lengthy, and the themes develop and unfold regularly. There are components of post-rock with the lengthy build-ups, progressive rock with the sweeping Mellotrons, and a deep sense of melancholy.
The album options spoken phrase in three languages: English, Norwegian and Welsh. Marsh says that this verse can sum up the general feeling of the album:
“The kingdoms of eternity
Will carry you right here
Till the top of time
The place nothingness
Leads us into endlessly”
